Welcome
General information about the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Environmental and Soil Sciences (DQFAS)
The Department of Chemistry, Physics and Environmental and Soil Sciences teaches in different centres of the University of Lleida: at the Superior Technical School of Agri-Food and Forest and Veterinary Engineering (ETSEAFiV), at the Superior Polytechnic School (EPS), at the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Education, Psychology and Social Work (FEPTS)). The teaching is related to the areas of knowledge of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, Physical Geography, Plant Production, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Environmental Technologies. Most of the teaching credits are taught in bachelor's degree courses but also in master's degrees.
The department organizes the Interuniversity Master in Soil and Water Management and participates in the Doctoral Programs in Agrifood Science and Technology, Electrochemistry. Science and Technology, Engineering and Information Technologies, Forest and Environmental Management. It also periodically organizes continuing education courses.
The research of the department is structured around several consolidated groups, which work in lines related to the previous areas of knowledge. The consolidated research groups to which the members of the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Environmental and Soil Sciences belong are:
- Agronomy and Environment in Mediterranean Agricultural Systems
- Agronomy and Improvement of Yield and Quality of Extensive Crops
- AgroICT and Precision Agriculture (GRAP)
- River Dynamics (RIUS)
- Environmental Physicochemistry
- Innovation in Materials and Molecular Engineering - Biomaterials for Regnerative Therapies (MEM-BRT)
- Post-harvest
- Dynamic Systems Applied to Solar Energy (SDAES)
- Soils and Water
- Superconducting materials and functional nanoengineered structures
- Sustainable Energy Machinery & Building
- Biotechnology and Agricultural Bioeconomy Unit
The department offers services related to its areas of knowledge to other researchers and/or society in general. Access to the Scientific-Technical Services of the University of Lleida is done through collaboration agreements with the researchers responsible for the department.
